The three versions split the GPT-5.6 route by workload. Sol is the strongest model for complex reasoning and hard agentic work. Terra is the balanced default for programming, operations automation, and support agents. Luna is the fast lane for background automation, high-concurrency simple tasks, and latency-sensitive instructions.
The key detail is simple: teams can choose the GPT-5.6 tier that matches the task instead of sending every step to the most expensive route.
Access
GPT-5.6 Sol follows the same premium gate as GPT-5.5. It is for paid-plan premium spaces. GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna are available on the Free plan, so teams can use the balanced and fast GPT-5.6 routes without upgrading first.
