Buda v1.5.0 Release Notes
Stronger free models, chat that keeps working through disconnects, and smoother tools, Drive, automation, and billing.
Released: May 20, 2026
✨ New Features
- Gemini 3.5 Flash joins the model picker: You can now choose Gemini 3.5 Flash in Buda, including from Free workspaces. It is a good fit for frequent everyday tasks.
- Claude Sonnet 4.6 is available on Free workspaces: Free workspaces can now choose Claude Sonnet 4.6 for more complex writing, analysis, and coding tasks.
- Chat messages can queue up: When an Agent is still working on the previous message, your next message is added to a queue. The chat shows the pending list, and you can cancel a message before it runs.
- Models can save reasoning effort: Some models now support low, medium, high, and extra-high reasoning effort. The model and effort you choose for a session are saved across refreshes and session switches.
- Settings now has an Integrations page: Tool configuration moved out of Skills and into a dedicated Integrations page. Future connections such as Linear and Slack will live there too.
- Billing can show credit usage by Agent: The Billing view now shows how many credits each Agent used, making it easier to spot busy and idle Agents.
- Automation time zones are clearer: Create and edit screens now show the task time zone, and task lists display the UTC offset, making scheduled work easier to check.
🔧 Experience
- Chat survives tab closes and network drops: Agent runs continue on the server when your browser disconnects. When you come back online, Buda resumes the stream instead of losing the answer.
- Model choices stick: The model you pick for an Agent is saved locally and reused across sessions, so you do not have to keep reselecting your preferred model.
- Fresh long replies stay open: The latest long Agent reply is shown in full so you can read it right away. Older long messages still collapse to keep history manageable.
- Tool limits are easier to act on: When image or video quota runs out, the tool detail panel now shows a clear message and upgrade entry instead of a hard-to-read error.
- Tools are easier to understand: Free workspaces can turn on the free tools inside mixed tool groups, while tools that require a paid subscription now show a clear explanation.
- Chat and tool panels feel cleaner: Scrollbars and result panels were polished across chat, tool details, code output, and file diffs so the right panel is tighter and easier to read.
- Drive looks more consistent: The Drive toolbar, file covers, folder colors, and hidden-file entry were cleaned up to feel quieter and closer to Buda's visual style.
- Slash commands feel calmer: The command menu is positioned more reliably, and the
/newcommand is hidden when you are already starting a fresh session. - Collapsed sidebars still show sessions: In Single Agent mode, collapsed sessions now appear as letter avatars. Hover to see the title, and click to switch.
- Marketplace installs guide signed-out users better: When signed-out users click Install or Deploy, Buda sends them to sign in and then brings them back to the same Marketplace page.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Unread counts are under your control: Selecting an Agent no longer clears unread counts automatically. Click the unread badge when you are ready to mark it read, and the badge no longer disappears on hover.
- Attachment upload is steadier: The inline resilience script is restored to prevent a DOM timing crash during attachment upload.
- Automation timing is more accurate: Scheduled tasks now use the same time-zone rules when created, edited, and run, reducing wrong-time triggers.
- Scheduled tasks no longer overlap: If the previous run is still active, the next scheduled trigger is skipped so the same Agent does not run duplicate work at once.
- Drive project detection is more reliable: Buda makes fewer repeated folder-type checks and fixes project detection when opening Git from Drive.
