Buda vs Claude: Which Subscription Fits Your Work?
A Claude subscription gives one person an excellent assistant. Buda is a workspace you run like a company: everyone on your team works in one shared Space with many Agents, each with its own runtime and its own private disk, and the company manages all of it in one place. Claude's models are available inside Buda too. If one assistant is what you need, start with Claude. If you want a team of Agents your whole company can work with, start with Buda.
The short answer
Pick by the work you want to hand off, not by the feature list. Both products can run tasks in the cloud, keep context and work on a schedule.
Choose Claude when
- You mostly work with one assistant: writing, research, analysis, coding.
- You live in Claude Code, or want Claude's own apps on desktop, mobile, Chrome and Microsoft 365.
- You use Claude models heavily and want a flat monthly price. Max raises the limits further.
- You are the only person who needs to see the work.
Choose Buda when
- You want to run Agents like a company: one Space for everyone, many Agents with their own runtimes and private disks, managed by owners and admins in one place.
- You want several agents with separate roles, files and tools, working after you close the laptop.
- Teammates, clients or partners need to use, edit or manage specific agents.
- You want to pick the model per agent (Claude, GPT, Gemini or DeepSeek) and pay from one pool.
- Agents should reply in Slack, Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp or WeChat, or run on a cron schedule.
Use both when
- Claude is your personal assistant, and Buda runs the recurring work your team depends on.
- You like Claude's models: Buda agents can run on Claude Sonnet, Opus or Fable, so you don't give them up.
- The handoff is clear. Copying the same prompt into two products without an owner adds work.
What each subscription actually pays for
Same $20 entry price, different unit. Claude meters time with Claude per person. Buda meters agent capacity per Space.
| Claude | Buda | |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | Usage of Claude across web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code, for one person. | Agents in a shared Space. Each paid agent gets a cloud computer, adds monthly credits to the Space pool and includes one member seat. |
| Entry paid plan | Pro: $20/month, or $17/month billed annually. | Plus: $20/month per agent, with a discount for yearly billing. |
| Heavier use | Max: from $100/month, with 5x or 20x the usage of Pro. | Pro: $100/month per agent. 20,000 monthly credits per agent and a larger cloud computer. |
| How usage is limited | Usage limits on a rolling five-hour window, plus weekly limits on paid plans. Shared across all Claude apps. | 300 daily credits, plus monthly credits per agent. Each message costs credits by model: Claude Sonnet 5.5 is 1x, Opus 5.5 1.3x, Fable 5.1 5x. Top-ups available. |
| Models | Anthropic's Claude models. | Models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and DeepSeek, chosen per agent. |
| Working with others | Team plan from $25 per seat per month ($20 billed annually), for 2 to 150 people, with shared Projects. | Invite members to a Space. Share each agent with Can use, Can edit or Can manage access. |
| Free plan | Sonnet and Haiku for everyday questions. No Claude Code. | 2 agents and 300 credits a day. Agent and Drive only, no Browser, Terminal or Git. |

Where the work lives
Neither product is just chat. The difference is what sits at the center.
Claude: one assistant you steer
Work happens in conversations, Projects and Cowork tasks. Claude can run tasks in the cloud, schedule recurring ones, use connectors and skills, and pick up on another device. The center is your relationship with Claude, and Projects keep related files and instructions together.
Buda: a workspace of agents
Work happens in a Space. Each agent has a persistent cloud computer with its own files, sessions and Skills, plus Browser, Terminal and Git on paid plans. Automations run on an interval or cron. Results stay in the agent's Drive, where a teammate can open them next week without asking you.
One studio, one week, two setups
A small studio publishes the same brief on three channels every week.
Monday
Collect sources for this week's brief.
Tuesday
Draft a version for each channel.
Wednesday
Check the drafts against the studio's guidelines.
Thursday
A person approves, edits and publishes.
With Claude
One person runs each step as a Project or a scheduled task and reviews the output. It works well while one person owns the whole loop and keeps the context in their head.
With Buda
A research agent, a writing agent and a review agent each keep their own files and schedule. The editor opens the drafts in the Space and approves them. Next week's run starts from what was learned, even if someone else is on duty.
The trade-offs, stated plainly
Where Claude is the better buy
- The deepest Claude experience: Claude Code, the desktop and mobile apps, Claude in Chrome, Microsoft 365.
- Heavy use of Claude's top models. On Max, that usage is inside a flat price, within limits. In Buda, Opus and Fable draw credits, and Fable costs 5x.
- Fewer moving parts if you are one person working with one assistant.
Where Buda asks more of you
- Browser, Terminal, Git and cron schedules need a paid plan.
- Credits are shared by every agent in the Space. When they run out, agents pause until the daily or monthly reset, or a top-up.
- You design the roles. A Space with one vague agent gives you little that Claude doesn't.
- Bring your own API key is an Enterprise option, not part of Plus or Pro.
Test with one recurring task, not one prompt
A single answer tells you little about either product. Run one real workflow twice.
1. Fix the inputs
Same sources, same output format, same person reviewing.
2. Change something
Before the second run, swap a source or a requirement.
3. Hand it over
Ask a teammate to find and check the result without your help.
4. Count the cost
Compare setup time, correction time and what you paid for both runs.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Claude models inside Buda?
Yes. On October 23, 2026, Buda's pricing page lists Claude Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 5.5, Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1. Their usage is paid with your Space's credits.
Can Buda use my existing Claude subscription?
Not to pay for cloud agents. On Plus and Pro, their AI usage is paid with your Space's credits, and bring your own key is an Enterprise option.
Doesn't Claude already have scheduled tasks and team features?
It does. Claude has scheduled tasks, Projects, connectors, and Team and Enterprise plans with shared Projects. Don't choose Buda because you think Claude lacks them. Choose it if you want several agents, each with its own computer and files, shared across a Space.
Which one is cheaper?
It depends on the shape of your work. One person using Claude heavily usually gets more for the money from Claude Pro or Max. Several agents shared by a team are priced per agent in Buda, not per person. Credit cost depends on the model and how long a task runs, so measure one real workflow.
What happens when I hit the limit?
In Claude, you wait for the session or weekly limit to reset, or buy extra usage where your plan allows it. In Buda, agents pause until the daily or monthly credits reset, or until you top up. Top-up credits don't expire.
Is Buda built on Claude?
Buda uses models from several providers, and Claude is one of them. What Buda adds is the workspace around them: cloud computers for each agent, shared Drive, Skills, automations, chat channels and Space permissions.
Start with one agent and one recurring task
The free plan includes two agents. Give one a task you repeat every week, check the first result, and upgrade when it needs a browser, a terminal or a cron schedule.
