GPT-6 Astra is now available as a model option in Buda for workspaces with an active paid subscription.
It is built for difficult Agent work: long sequences of decisions, tool calls, software operation, coding, research, and professional artifacts. In Buda, you can pair that capability with persistent context, real tools, visible execution, and human review.
What changes in Buda
Three things matter when you select Astra.
First, it is a premium model for paid workspaces. It is not available on the Free plan.
Second, Buda displays a 5.0x Credit multiplier. This is a relative comparison, not a fixed price per request. Actual Credits depend on input, output, cache usage, tool calls, and minimum-charge rules.
Third, Astra supports four reasoning levels in Buda: Low, Medium, High, and xHigh. Medium is the default.
Choose the reasoning level from the task
Use Low for bounded work with a clear format and an easy check. Use Medium for normal multi-step work involving planning, files, or tools. Move to High when mistakes are expensive or the task has several dependencies. Reserve xHigh for the hardest cases where additional reasoning is worth more time and Credits.
Higher effort is not automatically better. The useful setting is the least expensive level that reliably passes your acceptance criteria.
When Astra is a sensible choice
Astra is best tested on work where model quality can change the final acceptance rate:
- operating websites or business software across several steps;
- investigating a codebase, implementing a change, and running checks;
- combining many files and sources into a structured deliverable;
- recovering from ordinary tool failures without losing the goal;
- producing a document, spreadsheet, presentation, or site that a person will review.
Routine extraction, tagging, and formatting usually belong on a lower-cost model. Escalate to Astra when failed attempts and reviewer corrections cost more than the model difference.
A stronger model still needs an operating system
The model is only one part of an Agent workflow. It still needs the right files, tools, permissions, stopping conditions, and review points.
In Buda, keep the task brief and acceptance criteria visible. Give the Agent only the tools and access it needs. Review customer-facing messages, production changes, payments, deletion, and publication before they leave the workspace.
That division stays simple: Astra handles difficult execution; people decide what is acceptable and remain accountable for the result.
